Not having enough gold in WoW can be frustrating I know. Thats why this 2 part WoW Gold Guide is for you poor pennyless people. As in most games normally you have a currency to purchase certain items etc... In WoW your currency is gold and to level up your character and to purchase items in-game or on the auction house you need lots of it. Therefore the gold market - "farming" in particular is a complex and competitive one. Estimated at US $1bn per year in illegal gold farming.

However if you go this route you will get banned and your account closed so what is the point really? Here are a few legal tips to enjoy playing WoW and make lots of gold without stressing about being banned.

There are a multitude of ways to make gold in WoW and everyone has their own favorite way or ways. Some work well and make you gold quickly and others work but take a bit of time.

Here are some genuine gold tips that should not be overlooked.

Okay these tips are for making gold with your professions.

There are different ways that you can make gold with your professions such as gathering items such as fish,herbs,ores etc.. The quickest way to make large amounts of gold in my opinion is instead of crafting items rather just sell the raw items as mat stacks in the auction house. People will sometimes rather be looking for the basic materials that they need to craft or make recipes etc... this is better than you taking the items that you have gathered then making something out of those items. So basically rather focus on gathering instead of crafting to make gold quickly. Remember you can always search the auction house to see what items are required by other players maybe a quest item of sorts and then if you have that item sell it to them for some easy gold.

Right, starting with the gathering professions that seem to make the most gold quicker we have mining, skinning, herbalism and fishing.

Lets start with fishing.

Fishing may be boring for some people but it can be quite lucrative, say fishing for black or golden pearls. You will probably have to open a vast amount of clams but these little pearls can get you some good gold on the auction house. Say for a stack of 10 black pearls you can get 10 gold and for a single gold pearl you can get 30g. These pearls can be found near any high water areas, especially good findings at Feralas near Feathermoon. So dont pull your nose up at fishing especially when you get to the higher levels. Just make sure you have a good rod and lure though to max your skill quicker.

Next Skinning

Remember to buy bigger bags as skinning items do not stack all that well. Skinning can bring you in some good gold as blacksmiths, tailors and leatherworkers need your items. The best way of getting your items or skins are basically finding areas in quests where other players have to kill a vast amount of monsters or creatures for the required quest. Then you waltz in and skin all you want without having to do the fighting. Go to Nesingwary's expedition to the north in Stranglethorn Vale to find raptors ,tigers and panthers to skin. Un'goro has plenty of devilsaurs and gorillas if you wish to go there to skin.

Once you level up to the higher levels go to Winterspring for plenty of shardtooths to get rugged leather and warbear leather. These stacked can give you some good gold as well. While you are there all the leather , loot and skinning can give you up to 40 gold per hour. Nice.

Moving On to mining.

Engineers and blacksmiths need many of the items that are mined by miners so that means mining can also make you some great gold. Arathi Highlands is very good for mining Iron and Mithril. In the northeast next to hammerfall there is a cave called the drywisker cave inside you will find lesser bloodstone which is needed for a quest and sells well at the auction house. Also checkout a cave north of Dun Algaz in the Wetlands for Incedicite ore which is also needed for a quest and sells well on the auction house.

Tanaris, Blasted Lands ,Searing Gorge & the Charred Vale are the best places to find Mithril and Truesilver. Thorium is a real good money maker and you can normally get round 10g per stack. In the Thorium veins you can also find Arcane Crystal's which have a very good resale in the auction house. They sell fopr 12-15g each, so get cracking and search for those veins in Winterspring, Burning Steppes, Eastern Plaguelands or Un'Goro. You should consider using the gathereraddon to locate the Thorium veins quicker so that you can cash in on this tip as soon as possible cause you can make a good 50g per hour doing so.

Last but not least we have herbalism.

Even if you are not an alchemist you can make money with herbalism because for this tip you are just gathering herbs and selling them and not making potions etc...Sure your target market may be only selling to the alchemists but they can prefer to buy the herbs instead of searching themselves. One of the herbs you can go for for easy gold is the plagueblooms which are located in the western and eastern plaguelands. However the plaguelands can be overcrowded so maybe head to Felwood to beat the crowds. While you are in Felwood lookout for higher end herbs such as Gromsblood and Dreamfoil to go with the Plagueblooms you are collecting. Plagueblooms were selling for 8 gold per stack when I wrote this and Gromsblood and Dreamfoil round 12g per stack. You can make plenty gold doing this.
Ghost Mushrooms is the next gold maker. These sell for between 20-25g and can be found in the Hinterlands in a couple of spots. So what you waiting for? Get cracking and make some good gold now!
